Things I Never Told You

To live, and to love, candidly,

in Earnest,

is an arduous thing in a world so

dismissive and discouraging of

the true, immense,

weight

of our emotions.

My room, my house, my heart,

they are all too small for me to keep hold

of everything I never told you. And so

I'll share them here in verse, but

fear that I'd have not the heart to

speak them to your face.

I wanted you to know, but my voice

cracked and the words would not form.

You matter, your words and your actions

are kind, and the world is a better place

with you here in it.

It's vital to hear it in case you forget -

If you are reading this, then it means

that this poem is about you.
