An offering -
My sword
tossed aside,
laying abandoned on the wet ground;
surely a sign of honest intent?
My shield
lowered and dropped
revealing the wounds that lay behind;
An honest gesture, or chance to exploit?
Cards are on the table;
nothing up my sleeves.
Hands outstretched, I stand here now before thee:
an open book;
an unlocked door;
Read me, open me, or tear me to pieces.
